Select the USB serial device. Read any erase prompt and keep the board connected while flashing.

AFTER FLASHING

Connect the router and set up both Wi-Fi links

  1. After installation finishes, restart the board and connect your computer or phone to ESP32_NAT_Router.
  2. Open http://192.168.4.1/setup on that connected device.
  3. Under Uplink (Internet), enter your existing Wi-Fi network name and password (STA).

Security: The factory AP is open. Set its password during setup before using the router normally.

FIRMWARE 1.2.0

What the router supports

Built for the original ESP32 target. The install image includes the bootloader, partition table and application.

01

Wi-Fi router

Route client traffic from the 2.4 GHz access point through a configured station uplink.

02

WireGuard and firewall

Use the existing tunnel routing modes, kill switch, ACL rules and port forwarding.

03

Optional DNS filtering

Filter supported DNS queries with bounded lists. Encrypted DNS and app-specific resolvers can bypass filtering.

USB connection tips

  • Close serial monitors and programs using the port.
  • Install the board's CP210x or CH340 USB-to-UART driver if needed.
  • If the ROM bootloader does not start, hold BOOT while connecting, then release it when flashing begins.
  • Press EN or RESET to restart after installation.

First startup security

The factory-default AP is open. Connect locally, open http://192.168.4.1, and set a strong, unique AP password immediately before normal use.

Review the recovery instructions before changing firmware.

Firmware is enabled only after the successful build artifact, manifest and image have passed validation.
